The National library and Alexander Turnbull library have published a blog detailing the release of a set of post-1945 aerial photographs from the Whites Aviation collection under the Creative Commons 4.0 (international) Attribution.This means anyone can use these images under the Creative Commons 4.0 Attribution without having to contact the library for permission first.

The set of photographs that are being released are oblique aerial images captured after 1945. Whites Aviation was formed by Leo White a well-known aerial photographer and aviation enthusiast. The company has since been sold several times and is known today as Aerial Surveys Ltd.
