The Traffic Road Event Information System (TREIS) API, developed by Eagle Technology, lets you access real-time data on notable events/incidents that affect traffic conditions across New Zealand's national highways. An example of an event/incident may include roadworks, an accident, or weather-related problems such as ice or snow that may cause delays to road users or requires caution.

This information is available to the public and verified by the Transport Agency or another official source. It is important to note that the service is not provided under a service level agreement or guaranteed up-time. NZTA plans to host this feed themselves in 2018.
To try the NZTA TREIS prototype feed, visit the New Zealand Base Data and live feeds group.
EXPLORING OPEN DATA CAPABILITY IN ARCGIS ONLINE
